Julia Millen

Historian and biographer Julia Millen’s numerous books include biographies of NZ novelists Guthrie Wilson and Ronald Hugh Morrieson and the history of Kirkcaldie and Stains. Other notable works are: Colonial Tears & Sweat; The Story of Bell Gully Buddle Weir; Salute to Service: the Royal NZ Corps of Transport; Breaking Barriers, IHC's first 50 years; Through Trackless Bush, the New Zealand National Forest Survey. Dilemma of Dementia, her moving account of caring for her mother who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease was published to acclaim in 1985.  

Julia has a BA Honours degree in the History & Literature of Music from Victoria University of Wellington, and was librettist for two New Zealand operas: Hypatia and The Golden Salamander.

She has scripted a feature programme for TVNZ,  is a book reviewer for the NZ Listener and New Zealand Books and a contributor to the international Literary Encyclopedia. Julia is a long-time member of the NZ Society of Authors (PEN).

 

 

Lynn Peck

Lynn Peck has designed and edited books for over 20 years. She works with individuals and corporations facilitating the publishing process, and has extensive experience in managing book printing. In 2010 she received a Highly Commended Pride in Print award for Gareth Watkin’s Street Adonis 2.
